IIRC, on a continuous form, any format changes will affect all displayed records not just the current record.

Select the text box in design view. Use Conditional formatting and select "Expression" as the type. Put something like this in the expression box:
[myCheckBox]=True
You'll need 2 conditions: one if the checkbox is true and one if it is false.
