[MS_AccessPros] RE: Sql Server Native Client

I use the old SQL Server provider. I found out the hard way that there is a bug in Access or maybe it's in the Native client. varchar(max) columns get strangely truncated in linked tables. The old provider does not have that problem.

Hi everyone... :)

I'm learning about "driver & provider" to Sql Server, my question is : assumed that we don't need to use new feature of Sql server 2005/2008, is there bennefits to use the latest driver or provider? especially for performance factor, i have read many articles but didn't find the explicit statement about performance factor in using...for example Sql Server Native Client 11.0 OLEDB Provider or Sql Server Native Client 11.0 ODBC Driver (or SNAC in general)... i always use "the old" sql server driver.
any directions would be appreciated...thank you very much.
