You do have a habit of asking questions which are either difficult or uncomfortable ![]()
In my last contract I encountered a team that always used the "old" SQL Server "driver". It worked and they didn't have to worry about it as there wasn't much going on other than SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE.
The advantage of using a native client would be that you get more support for features in the supported SQL Server Version... but it does raise the possible problem of making sure the right version of the "SNAC" is installed. I haven't done or seen any benchmarks but I also haven't really noticed any performance differences when switching to "SNAC" so I am going to stick my neck out and suggest you continue to use the SQL Server driver. Just make sure the connection string is configurable, just in case ![]()
