[MS_AccessPros] Is it necessary to compact/repair a frontend with extension as "accde"?

 

Dear All,

I have a frontend "hotel.accde", and a backend "hotel_be.accdb". All actual tables are stored in the backend.

My question: is it necessary to set the frontend "hotel.accde" as "Compact on close"? , if I chose not to compact on close, will it affect or damage the backend?  Thanks in advance!
