Re: [MS_AccessPros] seechanges

Terence-

You can safely use dbSeeChanges for either Access tables or a link to SQL Server.

Folks, I am performing a conversion from MS acess 2007 to SQL server. I have encountered an issue with the option seeChanges. Under what circumstances is "seeChnages" required? and what does it do ?

Addtionally, If I use "seechanges" for SQL server, will it create a problem if I use the same statement in MS ACCESS 2007 ?

Below is a typical example:

Old statement

' below changed for SQL SEVER
Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(mySql, dbOpenDynaset)

' below changed for SQL SEVER
Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(mySql, dbOpenDynaset, dbSeeChanges)
