[MS_AccessPros] RE: autonum with missing values

Also, when they just click new, it picks an unused number that isn’t the last and highest.  This seems reasonable to me considering all the data I had to delete.

I need to maintain the existing autonumber generated value, so I don’t want to resquence them.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] autonum with missing values

Pros, I messed up a database and had to delete a bunch of data.  I have an autonumber field and a procedure that allows someone to duplicate a record.

When they duplicate a record it isn’t taking the highest of the high, but a number in the middle.  Is this normal behavior?

Arrgh…
