You are right about couple things.
This problem doesn't affect users at all. They run applications without seeing or worrying about the design side of it.
AND the fact that changes to the relationships cannot be made from the front end.
I am not trying to change relationships from the front-end but I would like to see them graphically displayed when I view/print relationships and/or when I design/modify queries.
It makes designing lot clearer when you see relationships, primary keys and foreign keys, and relationship types between tables (one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many). That does not happen so it makes it so much harder for our developers to visualize relationships when designing or modifying applications (refer to http://www1.hnehealth.nsw.gov.au/hneph/problems/Different%20views%20when%20designing%20queries.zip) for more.
