Check the AutoCorrect feature under Proofing in Access Options.
Clear the check mark "Replace text as you type" or create a custom entry
in the list.

They may have the Caps lock turned on.
I have noticed weird behavior with Caps lock turned on.

I have an end user that is having a problem with a Combo box.
It appears there must be a spell check in the combo box. They are
looking up the name a of person that is spelled "Their" the spell
check keeps correcting it to "their" and it messes up the search.
Is there any way to remove that particular work. I know it can be done
in MS Word but I do not know where to find it in Access.
