[MS_AccessPros] RE: Yahoo accounts hacked

Hi Pat

Nice to see you're still around! (members: Pat is our original co-founder whose career took her in another direction)

I don't think Yahoo stores home addresses. But maybe that 3rd-party database has it.

RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Yahoo accounts hacked

I had been challenged to change my password several days ago which was probably a result of the hacking.

About the same time, I got a billing from Yahoo which I thought was related but it was a renewal of my Flickr account.

[MS_AccessPros] RE: Yahoo accounts hacked

Thank you Bill for this information!  I think my account was one of them because I got this weird email with my home address in it from a spammer.  I've changed my password as suggested.  I'm wondering and hoping that's not closing the barn door after the horse got out!

Regards to all,

Pat

Obviously in today's internet world, it's still a good idea to change passwords frequently.

The above site allows you to test your tendency to repeat certain letters, phrases, etc.  in passwords.

Hi all

I heard on the news this morning that Yahoo user names and passwords were hacked through a third-party database.

Change you Yahoo password RIGHT NOW. And make it a strong one. Also expect some spam coming our way through member accounts. As always, spammers will be banned. If you are one of the ones banned you'll have to contact me or one of the moderators (ms_access_professionals-owner@yahoogroups.com) after you change your password.
