RE: Re: [MS_AccessPros] Some forms won't open

When this happens to me it is because I forgot to make sure all the code was compiled successfully before creating the accde file.

Open any form with code in Design View. Open the code editor by clicking the view code button on the Design Tab of the ribbon.

Select the Debug Menu. If the first item "Compile Database" is not grayed out then click it to compile the project. It won't compile if you have errors in your code but it will show you where the errors are. If it compile successfully then save and close the editor and re-create the accde file.

John,

After clicking on some forms, it pops up messeges like:

"Ivalid use of Null"

"The expression is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluted, for example, a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying expression by assigning pars of the expression to variables."

I think the database is broken, right? What shall I do? Please help!

Best Regards,

Kevin

Kevin-

Please explain what you mean by "some forms won't open."  Note that when you're running in an accde file with the Nav Pane hidden, you must provide command buttons on forms to be able to open forms and reports in your app.  You basically need a Switchboard form that opens on startup that lets you get to all the bits and pieces.
