Re: Bls: [belajar-access] rekap

Minta Maaf Pak Anang, 4 hari kemarin memang Web MUGI sedang pemeliharaan pada VM (Virtual Machine) -nya. MUGI berusaha keras menyelesaikannya.

RE: [MS_AccessPros] Linked table Question

Jim

I'd live with it. skroll29.com has a free suite of V-Tools for Access that has an excellent find and replace, but at this point it's much too risky to do something like that.

Bill

I asked my boss one time if we should consider renaming the tables with the R&D on it, which is 14, spread over 70 databases and probably associated with many thousands of objects like queries, macros and vba code. She smiled and changed the subject before I asked again.

Re: [MS_AccessPros] Cannot use S:\thefile.mdb file already in use

Hi Patty,

I know the issue was random but was trying to see if, in its randomness, the issue happened after the initial use of the database and not upon opening it for the first time in a day. The intent is to see if the possible cause is, similar to what Bill mentioned, but was possibly caused by abruptly closing Access without going through the normal, designed, close database steps. There are times when the Task Manager shows a process as being active even though it was thought to be closed and there's no tab in the Taskbar for the process or application. When this is the case, the Task Manager Applications Tab will not, for example, show Access as being active while the processes tab will show Access as being present.

This "Application not present but Process is" condition, at least for me, happens most often when an application seems to hang up and I need to force its closure. Another possibility could be a 32-bit app running on a 64-bit OS and it doesn't, for whatever reason, clean up after irself when closed so that the Process is still present.

Along with all the other advice, I'll add this: The user could inadvertently
opened the FE more than once. Next time it happens have the user call you so you
can prompt him/her to open the Task Manager and look under the Applications tab
to see if the FE is indeed open more than once.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff
The problem was report as random, but now I can ask a few questions and maybe
get a better idea of what is going on.

Re - turning Access off softly
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this.
??? using the Exit Application button on the menu or clicking the X (close)
button on the top right corner of the window

look into how the database is being closed. It could be that Access isn't being
softly shut down.
