Re: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Bugs in Access 2010

Bill,

I am sure that it is because I went around to the users and made sure that the databases are in the trusted locations. But things could have changed since then. I will check that.

Jim

Something else just occurred to me. Does the user have the folder listed in his/her trusted locations? Some macros will not run if the database is not in a trusted location.

My boss ran the macro on her own desktop. The macro and all subsequent queries ran without incident. Yet the user wanted the macro and queries fixed. Others can run the macro without issues. Yet the user wants it fixed. Our Boss also wants it fixed. It is really difficult to fix something that is really not broken in the database.

The database is on a shared network drive. My boss then tried to open it and run the macro and it worked without problems, in front of the user. The user then went back to her desk and the macro failed for her.

We have seen other bugs that we cannot explain to users and they are getting tired of the problems. The bugs are not so prevalent that it is every day occurrences. It is like a plane crash in the media. It is made to be a big deal, yet thousands are killed or hurt in car crashes every day, and the media does not so much as air them.
