here is what Pat Wood said about limits last year:
"In Access 2007 the number of fields limit is 255 and the number of characters in a SQL statement is approximately 64,000. The number of characters for a Parameter is 255."
A file is limited to 2 GB

Open Help and search on "Specifications". You won't find anything about maximum number of records since this isn't a limitation.
