Re: [MS_AccessPros] Slide Show on a control on Access Form

Hendra,

My sample db named ImageManager might be of interest to you. Based upon file paths stored in access table, it demonstrates different styles for displaying images on forms. It is available at Rogers Access Library. Link:
http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=45

For grabbing image file paths, the user is presented with common file dialog box. As per multiple selection made therein, paths of image files get stored in access table. Two versions are covered (both in Access 2000 file format):
(a) ImageManager_XP.mdb - for Access XP installation or higher, using Application FileDialog object from MS Office 10.0 Object Library - for selecting image files.
(b) ImageManager_2K.mdb - for Access 2000 installation - using API for invoking the common dialog - for selecting image files.

Each version provides choice of following modes for viewing the images:
(a) Thumbnail View (Carousal Style)
(b) Thumbnail View (Continuous Form Style)
(c) Slide Show (Manual) - The user can advance the images step by step.
(d) Slide Show (Auto Play) - Time interval and AutoRepeat (Yes/No) can be specified by the user.

For both modes of slide show (Manual & Auto), following sorting options are available -
(1) Normal Sort
(2) Random Sort
(3) No Sort

References:
(a) For both versions: DAO 3.6
(b) For XP version: Microsoft Office 10.0 (or higher) Object Library

Best wishes,
A.D. Tejpal
