RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Unable to Open AVI File

Hendra-

Yes, that's basically the same program. Can you not load a wmv into the ActiveX you've tried with AVI?

Hendra-

In Windows 7, it's called Windows Live Movie Maker. You can download a free copy from here:

John,

Any formats are acceptable, i just want to try the link's (like Clive had gave ) technique...
Basicly i just want to play a video on a control on a form, i have tried it using Windows Media Player and it succesfully..
but i don't like the toolbar/buttons/menu bar below the screen of the Windows Media Player appear,...i want just the screen appear
while the video is playing not with the toolbar/menubar (with play, stop, pause button on there). So i am trying other technique like
Clive link's, maybe it like what i want.
Please direct me...thank you

Regards
Hendra

Hendra-

Is it acceptable to change to wmv format? You can do that with Windows Movie Maker that comes free with Windows. But first perhaps check to see if the ActiveX control can even handle that.

Thank you Clive...

Yes i had tried that link's technique to play avi files, but the problem is my avi files are unsupported by the activeX control.
How can i convert my avi files so then the activeX control can support them..?
I've tried reconvert all my avi files using Format Factory tool, but the results are the same, give erorr ""Unable to Open AVI File"
everytime i run the codes, please give me right directions..

regards
Hendra

Hi Hendra,

Try this link,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa218526(v=office.11).aspx#odc_acanimate_animatingaccesswiththeanimationactivexcontrol

Click on 'Show Message Info' on the right-hand side of
this message window if you have trouble with the link.

I know it because the activeX control do not support the AVI files. My question is how to convert my AVI files to be AVI files that can be supported by the activeX..?
