I am trying to link to a pipe delimited text file at run time. In order to do so, I manually created the link, saving the import spec. There is a known "problem" field, that is ostensibly a date, but since I know not all the data is good, I am telling the spec to treat is as text. All is ok to this point. However when I run the app as the user would, and run:
DoCmd.Transfertext acLinkDelim, "my import spec","tbl_summary_XXX", stDir & stFile, True
the link is all wrong, the data in "company name" is showing "due date ", even though the data lines up ok during a manual link.
