RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Thanks to this Group I am now an Access MVP!

David-

ROFL - it must have been a slow weekend here in Paris! Sounds like the time
difference worked to your advantage to catch me during a slow part of my day.
Glad I could help!

Thank you John for that piece of trivia John. I knew there was some heavy
hitters in this group, but the announcement by Pat has given me a new
appreciation for the assistance that I receive. John, you probably do not
remember, but back around 2007 or 2008 I was working on an application and
it seemed like every 45 minutes or so, I'd run into a problem.I must have
asked 10 questions that day, and I think you answered most if not all of
them. What surprised me about that weekend is that you were responding back
to me literally nearly in real time. It was one of the most fruitful
weekends that I've ever had programming.

I continue to tip my hat to the experts in this field.

Sincerely,

David

Pat & David-

I love working on this forum. When the newsgroups became overloaded with
traffic several years ago (they don't even use newsgroups anymore for the
"official" forums), I latched on to this group. When I saw all the good
stuff
happening here, I nominated Bill Mosca and A.D. Tejpal for MVP honors and
called
attention at Microsoft to this great group.

Hi David,

Thank you, we have a lot in common. Like so many that post here we love
Access.
I have never taken a college or university course for software development
but I
know how to dig up information and learn, a skill which was fine-tuned by
tough
professors in college and a master's degree program where if you did not
document your information the prof was not happy! Writing articles helped me
to
be sure I had my facts straight because there are plenty of mostly good
people
that will quickly point out any errors or misinformation.

I have also learned a lot from visiting the MVP's sites.

My main school it this forum where I lurk and learn a lot. The professors
here
are just awesome!

I am one of only two *new* Access MVPs this year AFAIK. The rest have
recieved
the reward again this year. There are 76 Access MVPs listed on the web site,
although there are many more in other categories. The award is given each
year
and there is no guarantee you will get it again so you have to keep doing
good
free things for the Access Community if you want to receive the award again.

Kind Regards,
Pat Wood, Access MVP
