RE: [MS_AccessPros] Not working....confused

Tiffany-

That makes no sense. Access doesn't use SQL to update your table via a form/query. Can you open the table with the new memo field in Datasheet view? If that works, can you enter data in the new memo field on any row?

John-

That worked. So I added a memo field to the table and the form. Then query run and the memo field does not show up in the table window so I can add it to my table query. I tried updating the table and then hit run and I get this message "syntax error in UPDATE statement".

What should I do?

Tiffany-

Probably, but it should't crash. Open the query in Design View and add it to the query.

Okay I found the instructions on how to turn it off and I ran the repair compact & repair. But, it is still not allowing me to add the field or any existing field for that matter. I wonder if it is because I have table query and it cannot update the table query.

Tiffany-

When was the last time you compacted and repaired your database? If it's still
broken after that, try creating a new empty database, then import all the
objects from the old one. Oh, and turn Name AutoCorrect off!

I added a column to my table. The field is a check box. Now I would like to add
it to my form, but when I select it in "add existing field" it shuts down access
and says to back up dbase for repair.

Any suggestion?

Tiffany
