[MS_AccessPros] Re: Creating an executable in Access 2007

 

Hi Sally,

To foil "someone with enough knowledge" with Access is difficult. The best security you can get with Access requires using a back end like SQL Server or SQL Azure. You will need to use Stored Procedures in SQL Server or SQL Azure accessed by using ADODB or ODBC and unsaved Pass-through queries in code. Then you can save your front-end Access database as an accde or mde file and distribute it to your users. This type of security is normally done by experienced professional Access and SQL Server developers.

When Access is developed like this it can be an excellent and secure application. It will almost always be much less expensive than developing with NET.
