[MS_AccessPros] Re: Access 2000 files with Access 2010?

Pretty simple. If you are upgrading from Win XP there is a lot of prep work to do before you install Win 7. Download Microsoft's Windows Easy Transfer utility, read all the documentation and run it before you install Windows 7. Follow MS's advise for upgrading the OS. It will save you a lot of headaches. A good start page is at:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer

Once Win 7 is installed and you've run the WET utility, install Office 2010. Then open each .mdb in Access 2010 and convert it to the new .accdb file format. They should convert without any problem, but you might have to make some minor adjustments.
