Hi,
This is not strictly an Access question, but is related.
I have a client-server Access aplication and I want to move the database back-end to MySQL and continue using the Access front-end.
The application will be used by a number of people, and may need to be set up on client machines by someone who is not really an IT person, but is a power user. I would like to make this setup procedure as easy as possible for this person.
I though of linking the Access tables to the MySQL back-end using a file DSN, hoping that all that will be needed is that one file and the client front-end will pick up the odbc connection from that file.
I would really appreciate a sample file DSN, complete with host, placeholder username and placeholder password. The ones I have found on the Net are either for different databases or are not complete.
Any alternative methods are also welcome.
Thanks.
