RE: [MS_AccessPros] Should I create an Archive Table?

Celeste-

If you said 45,000 and 20,000, I would have said yes, move the obsolete records
to another table and perhaps create a form to view them as needed. But 2000 out
of 4500 is not a cause for worry - especially if the current table is indexed
properly.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Should I create an Archive Table?

I have a split database (back end on server & front end on everyone's hard
drive)with approx 4500 records in the DataTable. Some records (about 2000) are
files that have been "closed". We need them in case someone needs to look up an
old record.

Should I move those to another table just in case they need to see them
sometime?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Celeste
