RE: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Multiple User Issues

Brad,

My splash screen is simply a dialog form that is opened when the Access file is opened. I typically have it display values from a table that stores information about the application such as the title, version, last update, etc. There is nothing special about the form. I use the Access Options->current Database->Display Form property to designate my splash form.

Every developer should have a testing/sandbox database file to play with code, tables, queries, etc. I have mostly used the Northwind sample database since it has some tables and data to work with. Many times before answering a question in a news group or forum, I will open my "sandbox" database and create the tables and/or queries to confirm my answer. If you looked at my copy of Northwind, you would see table and query names that might contain "BradGriffis" or other questioners' names. I try not to post answers without testing stuff first. If a questioner doesn't provide much information about their tables, I will often post an answer that uses the tables from Northwind.

I expect someone might have posted a file with some initial configuration code and splash screen (attention Bill, Crystal, John, Gina, and others).

Duane, is there any sample code or databases on this Group site, or links that you can provide that will help me understand more about "Splash Screens" and "Sandbox Databases" etc.? In my Access 101 class we didn't cover much about startup options and user interface. I need to learn more about that. Thanks.
