RE: [MS_AccessPros] Possible compatiblity issue

Yes I did, thanks, I am looking into this but I think the reference library was ?? utility.mda, but I am still checking into that. (don't have the database with me so will take me to the end of the day to look for it)

I have two threads going on this because the initial email didn't go out after a couple of days so reposted and the initial one has now shown up now and John responded to it.

Let's use the "Cannot access tables on older version database" thread to continue trying to work this issue if that works for you.

Thanks John for responding. When I initially posted, it must have been
caught in Yahoo's glitch, so I reposted and Gina is working with me on
the post.

Initially when I opened the app, it had a reference that wouldn't allow
it work (can't remember the name but I am trying to find out -
utility.mda or something like that), and I couldn't find a replacement
so unchecked it and it worked. I have tried importing it to a 2010
database I think (not quite sure about this with the ability to change
how Access sets up tables in the options - either 2003 or 2007) without
success.

James-

What's the format of the database - .accdb? You could try creating a new
database in 2010 and then import all the objects from the old database
to see if
that fixes it.

I am running 2010 now on my computer and was given a database to look at
and
possibly modify. I believe it was originally developed in 97 and was
upgraded to
2002/3 then again to 2007. For a reason unknown to me I cannot seem to
open any
tables that are more than a couple records (can do 5 but not 94). If I
do try,
Access hangs and stops responding and if I try and be patient it will
remain
hung for more than 15 minutes. I am able to run reports and use the
application,
but not open larger tables. Any suggestions?

James
